The Clinical Nutrition department of the Portuguese Institute of the Face is dedicated to the assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and nutritional monitoring of different types of patients: from the simplest cases to the most complex, from non-surgical to surgical cases.
Clinical Nutrition, when necessary, integrates multidisciplinary teams from different departments, working in complementarity with the respective doctors to contribute to a personalized response for each patient.
At the Portuguese Face Institute, this department aims to monitor and address the following situations:
• Weight loss;
• Weight gain;
• Decreased immune system in the postoperative period;
• Incorrect diet associated with various pathologies, such as certain chronic diseases (e.g., type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases);
• Food allergies and intolerances;
• Energy and nutritional deficits;
• Celiac disease;
• Nutritional support for vegetarian diets or other dietary restrictions.
With the Clinical Nutrition follow-up from the Portuguese Face Institute, you will receive:
1. An assessment of your individual nutritional status;
2. Individual diagnosis based on clinical, biochemical, and dietary data;
3. Prescription, planning, analysis, and continuous supervision of your dietary plans.
