Its onset can be acute or gradual, and it may be exacerbated by local (in the mouth) or systemic causes (medication, gastroesophageal reflux, blood test changes, depression, autoimmune diseases) and causes significant concern for those experiencing the symptoms.
How does it manifest?

If you experience these symptoms for at least 2 hours a day for more than 3 months, seek help from a specialist in Oral Medicine.
